Will the sofa get inside?
Home & living
Check the delivery route through your building before committing to a large sofa.
A sofa fitting the room does not prove it fits the lift, corridor or entrance.
Measure the delivery shape
Ask whether the sofa arrives assembled, in separate modules or in cartons. Record the largest delivered piece, including packaging, rather than using only the assembled width shown beside a product photo. Confirm whether legs can be removed by the delivery team and whether that service is included.
Walk the route from the loading point to your room. Measure doorway clearances, lift opening and cabin, tight corridor turns and the final entrance. A single narrow width cannot prove a bulky object will turn through an angled route; ask the supplier to review the full situation.
Check building access
IKEA Philippines’ delivery reminders mention building or entry permits and possible subdivision or village entrance fees. Check your own building’s delivery hours, service-lift reservation and documentation requirements before selecting a date. Those conditions can differ between neighbouring condominiums.
Send the supplier a clear route description and measurements through its official channel. Do not rely on an agent’s general reassurance that a sofa fits most condos. Ask what happens if access fails and who pays for any second attempt or alternative handling.
Compare workable options
A smaller module can be better value than an attractive price on a sofa that needs an unquoted special lift. Compare complete delivered-and-usable costs, including any assembly that is actually required. Do not assume improvised hoisting or dismantling is safe or available.
Save written access confirmation with the order. If the seller cannot resolve a critical measurement, delay payment or choose an easier delivery format. This is a planning checklist, not a professional access survey or a promise of successful delivery.
